About Diabetes Education for Older Adults

Diabetes management is on the menu in our Fresh Perspectives Workshops, and diabetes prevention is a staple of the Longevity Lecture Series. Both are evidence-based, interactive and designed for older adults, with caregivers welcome to learn alongside them.

Jocelyn holds the CDCES credential, so your group learns from a specialist in diabetes care and education, in plain language and with a healthy serving of pizzazz.

What to expect

Ways to bring it to your group

  • A Fresh Perspectives Workshop on diabetes management, as a single session or a four-week series
  • A Longevity Lecture on diabetes prevention for larger audiences
  • A Kitchen-in-a-Box cooking demo to make it hands-on
  • A Caregiver Kitchen session for the people cooking at home

Who it’s for

  • Older adults living with or at risk for diabetes
  • Family and professional caregivers
  • Senior centers, community centers and care homes

Good to know

These are group education programs. They don’t replace anyone’s own doctor or diabetes care team; they work best alongside them.
